This weekend was full of tacos and tequila.....Yes, I love to be healthy and workout, but I am a proponent of having balance in your life. Saturday was Weston's mom's birthday and we celebrated at Javier's in Crystal Cove. There is another location at the Irvine Spectrum but you just can't beat the ambiance and views of the ocean from the one in Crystal Cove. If you haven't been to Javier's, their Jalapeño Margaritas are the BEST......What is even better is you can order them 'skinny.' I am all about any drink that I can either order or make 'skinny' (I'll do a post on some of my fav drinks skinnified soon).

Anything and everything on the menu here is so dang yummy!!!! We obviously ordered the guac and ceviche as starters to share around the table. I ordered the soft tacos, one chicken and one carnitas, and Weston got the Cabo Azul. Both were ahmazing! I listed the link below so you can check out their menu.

*Ambiance: Javier's has such a great ambiance. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but would definitely recommend making a reservation because it is always packed. Their bar area is a fun way to grab drinks and an appetizer with a girl friend. There is only one tv so not ideal to grab drinks and watch a game. They are able to accommodate large groups as well. They have this long table that reminds me of sitting down at a family Thanksgiving. Personally, I always prefer to sit outside and you really can't beat the views of the ocean and the sunset there.

*Food: They have a pretty large menu with things you don't normally see at a Mexican restaurant like Dungeness crab & lobster enchiladas. Yet, they still have the staples like fajitas, tacos and cheese enchiladas. They do breakfast, lunch and dinner.

*Service: Their staff is always helpful and quick to grab you your next drink or clear your plate/empty chip baskets in our case......My fav part of Mexican food. Since it was his mom's birthday they came out with a birthday flan and sang to her.

*Price: The plates are on the pricier side.....you know that 3 dollar sign thing on yelp ($$$), but it's a fun place to go to for a special occasion or a fun date night out. They have valet as well so you don't have to try to scramble to find parking as there are a bunch of restaurants in that shopping center.

Cheers!!! Have a marg for me!! I hope you enjoy it!!!
