Around the corner from Yurbban Trafalgar, our adorable & quaint hotel, was the greatest tapas and sangria restaurant. The restaurant came highly recommended from the same friend who led us to the hotel; so the first thing we did the night we arrived was request the concierge to make us a reservation (this is a MUST).

Same day/night reservations are generally hard to come by. It is definitely a small location; hosting maybe about 15 tables in the front room. I did see a room tucked behind the kitchen that we didn't walk through, but it was much more fun to watch the chefs prepare our food. Since we had a reservation, they set us up with a cute little table with our name on a chalk board.

Now let's talk drinks! Casa Lolea has 5 different types of homemade sangria, and naturally we each ordered a different flavor and then swapped to sample them all. Each was a unique mix on your typical sangria and they were all amazing!!! You can't go wrong with any of the 5 options they have for you to choose from.

Since Spain is famous for their tapas, we couldn't pass up an opportunity to try their signature Catalan tomato bread (which is pictured below). I think we ordered this in every restaurant we tried. When in Spain might as well eat like the locals do! A lot of the tapas have cheese or cream in them, so I had to be careful with my selections (I am majorly lactose intolerant). Both Weston and I ordered their frittata, which for tapas, was quite large and probably my favorite tapas we ordered while in Barcelona. I would highly egg-courage you to order one!

The food, experience, staff and sangria were top notch at Casa Lolea! We decided to go to a paella restaurant the next night, but Weston and I had agreed we wish we had just made another reservation and eaten Casa Lolea back-to-back nights. However, this restaurant is so delicious that our next trip we definitely will.

Fun Fact: You can have a taste of Casa Lolea right here in the States! Cost Plus World Market sells their Lolea Red & White Sangria!!!
