R&R LA Day

Relax, Ring shopping, Rooftops, and fRosé! We have been going a thousand miles a minute since getting engaged. So this Saturday we "loosely" planned an R&R day...with so many "R"s! Weston and I started our day with a beach Run to burn some energy and calories and stress off. Honestly... my favorite way to start any day is with a fun workout.

With it being September, we were able to roll right into some college football!! One of the best parts about being West Coast is that the games start at 9am... so we vegged and watched the Boston College and Oklahoma State games.

In keeping with $ave $eptember, we have been browsing for our wedding rings and working on the registry. Weston had a fun and relaxing idea to head to the Jewelry District in downtown LA to browse Rings. I had personally never been to the Jewelry District before... and holy can it be overwhelming! There are countless booths, people and jewelry to look at. It was so much fun to meet the girl who helped source my engagement diamond! Being there and in the moment we took some time to try on different shapes, sizes and fits... it's a little girl's dream trip!! I would highly recommend going! After shopping we, of course, worked up an appetite!

We love the Perch in DTLA, but it didn't have any openings for our spontaneous day in LA. Weston found The Wayfarer Rooftop restaurant and bar. It's a little urban oasis in the middle of the concrete jungle of Los Angeles. It's a long rectangular rooftop bar with high-top and lounge-like couches interspersed throughout. On a normal (non-Covid) summer night, I could see this place wall to wall with people soaking up the skyline and festive cocktails. From atop this little gem, you get 180 degree views of downtown LA.

With it being summer and on a rooftop we of course had to order the fRosé! But, this is one of their best sellers and sells out quickly! We had to wait for about an hour for them to make a new batch. It's not your typical frosé in the sense that is was pretty tart. We also were able to try some of their small plates. The Ahi Tartare and the Carnitas Tacos were both great for a late afternoon appetizer for us! I would highly recommend both!!! See them pictured below.

The Rooftop at the Wayfarer is only about a mile from the Jewelry District making it an easy stop before heading home. We would definitely come back here for another cocktail and summer night! Although they also have a brunch which we may just have to check out next time!!!

Any and all rooftop ideas for our next trip are highly welcomed!!!! We love a good new place to try and soak up the views!

Cheers!!!
