With all of the hustle in our daily lives, I often forget how easy it can be to enjoy a staycation in order to recharge and reset my body. This past weekend was Weston and my one year anniversary. We really wanted a stress-free getaway, yet close to home, since we both had to be back at work on Monday. Paséa Resort and Spa instantly came to mind. We had our first date at Tanner’s Treehouse Lounge, located on the Paséa property and subsequently had shared dinner and drinks there on many date nights. So staying there was a no brainer for us! Paséa resides at the west end of Pacific City, in Huntington Beach. The Pacific City location gave our staycation a ton of options for food, activities and fun.

From the moment we arrived at Paséa the staff went out of their way to make our stay special and meaningful. We began our weekend with a couples massage, at the Aarna Spa located in the hotel. We arrived at the hotel a little early allowing us time to hang out in the super cozy spa robes and enjoyed a glass of champagne in the Aarna relaxation room. They have the cutest couples massage room where we completely relaxed, and instantly transformed into vacay mood for the weekend. Honestly, neither of us had ever started a vacation with a massage but we definitely might make that a tradition going forward.

We had a fabulous room situated on the 7th floor room overlooking the pool and the Huntington Beach pier. The views from our room were just picturesque. Since it was our anniversary, Weston had done a lot of coordinating with the hotel for our room. They had a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a cute heart shaped from rose petals on our bed.

The rooms are phenomenal and they have called them ‘coastal chic’ in décor where you instantly feel at home when you step through the door. Their room keys are wooden surfboards that add a touch of ‘Surf City’ vibes to your stay. The shower has a large glass wall facing the ocean so that even while you are showering you can enjoy the view. Each room has a cute little balcony with a table and chairs. Both nights of our stay we took full advantage of sitting on the balcony with our champagne watching the sunset. Each room also has a mini fridge for you to use.
Protip: bring your own snacks and wine to enjoy on the balcony. Weston and I are obsessed with the Trader Joes goat cheese Brie and crackers.

Our first morning, we went to Philz Coffee, inside of Pacific City, to grab our caffeine fix for the day. Coffees in hand, we headed for a walk along the beach and then headed back to Paséa. The hotel has a great little gym inside of it which is connected to the spa. It’s equipped with a handful of treadmills, ellipticals, two water rowers, a Pelaton, and free weights. Weston and I did a quick circuit training workout to start our day before heading to the pool to relax in the sun.
Protip: if you take your own mug to Philz they charge you for a small coffee and they fill any size mug to the brim.

Since it was February, the pool was too cold for us, as it is not heated. They do heat the kids pool, and have a rather large jacuzzi. Honestly, relaxing in the jacuzzi is the best option since it is strategically located close to the ocean. The hotel serves great food and cocktails at the poolside. During the summer they serve one of my personal favs- Frosé. Sadly, it is only served during the summer months….trust me I asked!

Saturday night we went to Tanner’s Treetop Lounge, which has great drinks, atmosphere and a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights. You can snag a cozy spot on the couches next to a firepit or sit at the high tops depending the size of your group. The bar is a large round area allowing plenty of space to order drinks or just hang out under their giant “tree.” Tanner’s Happy Hour is Monday-Thursday from 4-6pm. I am all about a Happy Hour, especially one with a view of the ocean. There are plenty of firepits and heaters to keep you warm no matter the season.

We ended our last night of staycation on our balcony ordering their s’mores dessert which was phenomenal. They even brought us up two WARM blankets. We honestly could not have asked for a better weekend to relax, hang out and enjoy. Paséa did such an amazing job making us feel special. If you’re a local or traveling to Orange County for vacation, I would highly recommend staying here!!!!! Cheers!!!
